Laotian Officials Discuss Leadership in the Era of Digital Transformation

LOGODI and the Public Administration Research and Training Institute (PARTI) of the Lao PDR jointly operated a virtual training from August 21 to 24 for 45 middle-level managers from the Ministry of the Interior and the Vientiane Local Government.

The government of Lao PDR has recognized that public officials need to acquire abundant knowledge, develop digital capabilities and leadership and continue to upskill in order to address future uncertainties. Under this recognition, it is considering new regulations and laws to reinforce digital application programs.

In this context, PARTI proposed the idea of a joint training program between LOGODI and PARTI focused on leadership and local administration, specifically tailored to the current transition to the digital era.


With the help of Korean-Laotian consecutive interpretation services, Korean experts in each field shared knowledge and cases under the modules of local administration, leadership development, and digital government, and et in the training.

In the post-training survey, trainees expressed the need for in-person, invitational training especially to make field trips linked to lectures possible, and responded that they would actively share and utilize what they have learned from the training in the workplace.
