On-site Training Program for Local Councilors in Jeollanam-do Province

LOGODI conducted an ‘on-site training program for local councilors’ in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do Province, for two days from August 13rd to 14th.

‘On-site training program for local councilors’ enhances the ability of local councilors to discover/propose policies, and it began this year with an emphasis on improving problem-solving capabilities for common problems or issues in the region.

Considering that Jeollanam-do is the region with the largest population decline in Korea, a special lecture and discussion on ways to inflow the living population using local resources and improvement plan for the settlement conditions for young people were held under the theme of ‘plan for overcoming local extinction.’

This year’s training, which is being held for the third time following Chungcheongnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do, was attended by about 190 people, including the Jeollanam-do Provincial Council President, Yeosu City Council President, Jeollanam-do Provinical council, and local councilors from 22 city/country councils.

Furthermore, along with lectures on budget/settlement review techniques, which was one of the basic duties of local councils, analysis and explanation of budget/settlement data from local governments in Jeonnam were provided to offer practical help in legislative activities.
