Letters from Our Alumni
- Ms. Khin Mar Myo
Principal
Central Institute of Civil Service (UM)
Myanmar
Dear LOGODI Alumni and Friends,
I am Khin Mar Myo, a Pro-Rector of the Central Institute of Civil Service, Upper Myanmar
(CICS(UM)) under the Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) in Myanmar.
Our Institute, CICS(UM) has been established since 1999 under the Guidance of UCSB. Along the
years, CICS(UM) has performed as a hub for enhancing the knowledge, skill and attitude of Civil
Service Personnel by conducting different training courses for all level of civil services.
As a result of changing from Training Approach to Education-and-Training Approach of our
Institute, the Civil Services Academy (CSA) has been established in CICS(UM) on 2017 for the
Diploma Courses for entry and mid-level civil service officials. Meanwhile, other concurrent
functions such as conducting capacity enhancement programme for faculty members, redesigning the
training courses, collaborating with local and global organization, participating in regional
public service training network are carried out as possible as we can.
Not only in Common Challenges of Public Administration Institutes, but also in different customized training course designs had been discussed in this forum. We had learned a lot such as how the institute behave in modern Human Resource Management, provide continuous learning and development opportunities to civil services, encourage to establish the local training institutes, and maintain cultural values like the forum host country, Korea.
The second collaboration was made in Myanmar when Ms. Shin Soon-nyo, Director of the International Training and Cooperation Division of LOGODI visited CICS(UM) on 24th September, 2019. She participated in the Korea- Myanmar Public Administration Forum and travelled to meet me to discuss the areas of cooperation among Myanmar and Korea in Public Service Training matter.
By attending the LOGODI Global Forum 2019, I had a chance to understand more each other, built good friendship and human network, shared the common issues and found out the optimized solution. I would like to thank LOGODI for giving me this chance. I believe that all stakeholders, my colleagues, had a significant benefit and all of us had a great time in Korea.
Let’s keep the precious friendship forever.
