「The Council for the Local Government’s Training Development
」for the development of local government officials education and training held on February 25
th at Local Government Officials Development Institute(LOGODI) with the theme of ‘AI and Educational Innovation’. The council has been held continuously since the council has launched in 1987, and training institutions of 17 cities and provinces in the Republic of Korea have participated to discuss the direction of development of education and training to respond to the changing administrative environment.
LOGODI developed
「AI Literacy Competency Building Course
」 to improve local officials’ AI understanding and AI skills in line with the digital transformation era and distributed it to the every city and province. It attracts a lot of attention in the field as it focuses on fostering data-based administrative competency. Furthermore, with the goal of ‘Fostering Core Talents for Building Livable Local Communities across the County’, the institute is pursuing the following as the main task: creating a safe and pleasant educational environment, strengthening future response capabilities such as AI and Big Data, and activating exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign education and training institution.
This council was originated to seek the specific measurement for major tasks mentioned above and to deeply discuss the direction of innovation of education and training. The council discussed about ‘Digital Transformation of Education and Training for Local Government Officials and Future Education Direction’, shared 2025 education and training cases of LOGODI and each city and province, and discussed ways to improve the education and training system and operation. LOGODI plans to derive a cooperative plan to strengthen practical capabilities of local officials and further advance the education and training system.
LOGODI plans to strengthen education and training using digital technology and data in order to develop education and training for strengthening the competencies of local officials in keeping with the changing times, and to continue cooperation with education and training institutions of cities and provinces. A future public education model that has been further developed is planned to be fully promoted through this meeting.
