A Letter from Our Alumna

Dear Alumni and Friends of LOGODI,

My name is Aijan Muratkhan, from the National Academy of Governance (NAOG) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I would like to deliver my greetings to all LOGODI alumni in the world. Taking this opportunity, I would like to share my experiences with the capacity program at the LOGODI from February 9 to 16, 2020.

Arrived at Incheon International Airport, I was so impressed with the professionalism of the LOGODI staff. Although the COVID-19 virus situation was not serious at the time, the staff took precautions for the virus, such as preparing masks and sanitizers for all of us.

Moreover, I was very moved by the way how LOGODI took care of us throughout the stay. Cleaning was also done every morning and evening, and hand sanitizers were placed in every corner. I would like to praise LOGODI's thoughtfulness and professionalism and thank the staff on this matter. Thank you for such care and attention!

The NAOG has a new status of a civil service training institution under the Government. By the law, the NAOG should organize training programs for the public servants. However, about 81.4% of all civil servants currently work in local governments. To deliver all the mandatory training programs effectively, therefore, the NAOG must reallocate resources and turn the training programs via the distance learning platform.

All aimags (provinces), cities, soums (counties), and towns in Mongolia are connected by fiber-optic cable and/or have mobile networks. Accordingly, the NAOG focuses on reorganizing the training programs into online learning, which will support the local government officials to develop their capacity through online learning.

Since Korea has a well-earned reputation as a world ICT leader, the Mongolian government requested the LOGODI to share Korea's online training experiences with the NAOG in the topics of technological solutions for distance learning, e-course content development, introducing/managing distance learning, etc.

I appreciate the well-designed program of LOGODI to meet the needs of the Mongolian government. The lectures were very relevant and informative. Moreover, the site visits provided the participants with hands-on experiences in online content development at the National Institute for Lifelong Education and Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

Overall, the capacity building program was very successful and highly appreciated by the participants. During the stay, I felt as if I was in my home country for the generosity and good hospitality of the LOGODI. Thank you again for your hard work!

I believe that this year's follow-up program would be a good opportunity for the NAOG faculty and Mongolian government officials to strengthen its knowledge in developing an online learning system.

Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to LOGODI President Park Jae Min and the staff of the International Training and Cooperation Division. Without your generosity and dedication, our delightful stay in Korea wouldn't have been possible.
