Dear LOGODI Alumni and Friends,

My name is Narangua Batsukh, and officer of the Cabinet Secretariat of Mongolia Government(Local Government Management and Coordination Department).

I would like to extend my greetings to all LOGODI alumni around the world and take this opportunity to share my experience with the Capacity Building Program at LOGODI.

As government employees, we continually strive to enhance our skills and knowledge to better serve our citizens. Capacity building programs provide valuable information and resources, and also inspire us to continue learning and growing in our roles.

Through these programs, we gain new ideas, perspective, knowledge, and experiences, enabling us to develop more effective practices that shape our professionals growth as government officials.

Mongolia is a unitary state with a three-tier government system comprising 21 aimags(provinces) and the capital. Amiags are further divided into 330 soums and 1568 baghs. Hence, local authorities and public servants play a crucial role in implementing public policy and delivering services to citizens at the local level.

Strengthening our local government system is vital for Mongolia’s economic growth and sustainable development. This can be achieved through innovation that enhance local administration capacity and human resource management efficiency. Recognizing this, the Government of Mongolia views capacity building of the local government as a pivotal competence development initiatives, and has thus requested LOGODI to continue its international program for foreign local government officials.

This year, I had the privilege to lead a group of department heads from 11 local governments and participate in the ‘Capacity Building Program for Local Government Senior Officials’ at LOGODI from April 21 to 27, 2024.

My visit to Korea and participation in the training were incredibly enriching experience. The entire program was meticulously planned and organized, from site visits to insightful lectures delivered by inspiring professors who dedicated themselves throughout the training.

During the program, we gained valuable insights into Korean governance, public service culture, policy planning and management systems, HR development, and effective strategies for citizen service through innovative approaches and technology.

We also acquired practical knowledge on implementing national polices, such as utilizing ICT for e-government development and local farmers.

The capacity building program received high praise from all participants. The knowledge and insights gained will significantly contribute to our personal and professional development, enabling us to work more efficiently and implement best practices for the benefit of our country.

The cultural aspect of the program was equally memorable. Experiencing Korean traditions, such as wearing a hanbook in the charming Jeonju Hanok Village, exploring the streets, and savoring traditional Korean cuisine, not only enhanced our cultural awarness but also created lasting memories.

Throughout our stay, LOGODI’s hospitality made us feel exceptionally comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Korea.

Lastly, I wish to express sincere gratitude to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, LOGODI President Lim Sang-kyu, and the entire LOGODI team, especially the staffs of the International Training and Cooperation Division. Their dedication and commitment ensured the training’s success.

We deeply value the partnership between our organizations and emphasize LOGODI’s crucial role in capacity bundling for government officials at the international level.

Thank you very much for all your efforts and support to provide us such a rewarding and enriching learning experience. We eagerly anticipate further successful cooperation in the future!
