On December 1, LOGODI and Tsinghua University* jointly hosted the 16th Seminar online.
* Established in 1911, Tsinghua University has become the most renowned university in China specializing in science and technology. Many leaders of China including President Xi Jinping graduated Tsinghua University. The university is fostering many talented young people who will be driving the future development of China.

Based on the MOU signed in 2008, LOGODI and Tsinghua University co-host the annual seminar in turn for the capacity development of civil servants in two countries.

In particular, commemorating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and China, “Retrospection and Future of Local Government Exchanges and Cooperation” has been chosen as the main theme of the seminar.

The Seminar was categorized by three sessions in accordance with three themes: ▴Solidarity and cooperation between local governments of the two countries for balanced regional development, ▴Achievements and prospects of local governments in implementing a digital platform government, and ▴Future-oriented ways to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between local governments of the two.

Renowned experts from the academic circle and government agencies gave presentations on the topics stipulated above and exchanged insightful ideas. Such agencies and organizations include the Institute of Continuing Education, School of Public Management, School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University in China and Seoul National University, Korea Local Information Research and Development Institute, Sangmyung University, Korea-China-Japan Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, and the Governor Association of Korea.

At the opening ceremony that invited a total of 80 people online and in person, Mr. Han Chang-seop, Vice Minister of the Interior and Safety said, "I expect this seminar to offer valuable time to look back to the past, design the future, and seek practical ways to cooperate with each other for the development of exchange and cooperation between Korea and China."
