LOGODI Shares with Peruvian Officials Korea’s
Experiences on Government Innovation

From October 11 (Tue) to 21 (Fri), LOGODI conducted a capacity building program titled ‘Experiences and Challenges for the Management of Innovation in the Generation of Public Value.’

For this three-year project sponsored by KOICA, LOGODI designed a customized curriculum focused on government innovation, decentralization, regional development, intergovernmental cooperation and human resources development (HRD) in the public sector.

The participants in the first and second year include senior and managerial officials in charge of policymaking and policy implementation from the central and local governments, the Peruvian Civil Service Authority (SERVIR), and the National School of Public Administration (ENAP). As of last year, 20 officials from SERVIR and local governments were selected to receive working-level training; Active participation by these officials led to successful completion of the capacity building project across all levels and classes.

The Peruvian government has selected ‘Good Governance, Capacity Enhancement of Civil Servants and Balanced Regional Development according to the digital transformation’ as a national strategic goal in the 'National Development Plan for the 200th Anniversary of Independence' and the 'Peru Strategy 2050.’ To this end, the government is propelling innovation of both central and local governments.

Participants improved action plans which had been established in the 1st and 2nd year, while learning through in-depth dialogue and discussion on Korea's exemplary administrative cases.

LOGODI-Peru relationship dates back to 2017 when an MOU on exchange and cooperation for the capacity development of government officials was signed by LOGODI and SERVIR. Since then, a total of 12 courses of LOGODI saw the participation of 539 Peruvian alumni.
