ㆍGreetings from West Java (Pasundan Land), the Land that was created when God was smiling

Hello LOGODI friends from all around the world, I would like to extend my best wishes to you and your family.
I’m Fajar Aprillianto Rustandi, S.STP, graduated from the Institute Government of Home Affairs (IPDN) in 2017. Now I’m working as a civil servant, Foreign Cooperation Analyst for West Java Provincial Government.
I’m alumni on Local Administration Development Program (LADP) conducted by LOGODI, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Republic of Korea. I joined this program from 23-27 May, 2022.

Before participated in the LADP, I have engaged in different trainings which were conducted by different organizations within the country such as; the training conducted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia on Protocols and Consular Training, Goods and Services Procurement Training conducted by Government Goods and Services Procurement Agency, Regional Development Planning Training conducted by Gadjah Mada University. Those rainings were very helpful in capacity building for me as a civil servant, because in this era a civil servant is required to be proficient in all fields.

The LADP conducted by LOGODI was the first international training I attended, which was conducted by the foreign nation’s institution.
The training was guided by Mr. Jae Woong Youn and Dr. Chang Soo Choe, who was very communicative and helped us in every training stage. At the training, the participants were introduced to examples of changes in public services in several cities in Korea, public services in Korea are very advanced and modern.
In addition, we can also get to know each other from other countries, there were participants from Egypt, Colombia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Laos. This is very good in forming international networking, especially for me who works as a foreign cooperation analyst.

ㆍAbout West Java (Pasundan Land)

Taking this opportunity, let me introduce my local government.
West Java is the province with the most population in Indonesia, almost 50 million inhabitants. West Java is located on the Java island with the capital city of Bandung, consists of 27 Districts/Cities.

In West Java there is a famous quote by M.A.W. Brouwer (1923-1991), a phenomenologist, psychologist, humanist from Netherland, the quite is “West Java (Pasundan Land) was created when God was smiling”. This quote came out because he was fascinated by the natural beauty of West Java.

West Java located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, this area which has several active volcanoes is also often called Parahyangan or “the abode of the gods” because of its famously beautiful and unique scenery.
From lakes on top of mountains to white sandy beaches, West Java has a lot of spectacular nature that is not to be missed. Here are several natural tourist attractions in West Java :
ㆍMain Commodity of West Java

West Java has two main commodities from plantations. Namely, tea and coffee. This expanse of tea and coffee plantations can be seen in various hilly areas, such as Garut, Sukabumi and West Bandung, and other areas.

In West Java there are many tea plantations, the quality of the tea is also good. In fact, most of the tea leaves are exported.

It's not just tea that has become a main commodity, coffee from West Java or known as Java Preanger is also on the rise. Very good coffee trees are planted in the fertile soil of West Java, so they can produce the best coffee beans.

In addition to plantation products, West Java also has superior processed products that are able to compete in national and foreign markets, such as :
