LOGODI held a customized program in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for 20 Laotian officials from June 6 to 14, 2022. It was launched to support the administrative reform in the central and local governments of the Lao PDR, as a part of Global Capacity Enhancement Program of KOICA
The Lao government is propelling the Five-year National Socio-Economic Development Plan by 2025, targeting to eradicate poverty and develop its rural society. Based on a regional development policy for the decentralization, Three-build Directive was launched in 2012 to improve the quality of life in rural area and help build capacity of local governments.
In this context, LOGODI designed a program to support the Laotian public officials to enhance their capabilities including all the necessary skills and knowledge for the administrative reform of the Laotian government.
To achieve this goal, the program provided in-depth workshops and lectures which collectively shared Korea's experiences and best practices related to local autonomy system, Saemauel Undong, local administration innovation etc.
During the action plan workshop, participants received a practical consulting in analyzing and developing feasible implementation strategies for the Lao administrative reform.
Ms. Kim Hearyun, Director of the International Training and Cooperation Division congratulated participants and expressing her hope that the program would help the Laotian government officials to strengthen their capacity needed for administrative reform and national development.
