From May 23 to 27, 15 local government officials across six countries including Cambodia, Colombia, Egypt, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam participated in the 2022 Local Administration Development Program (LADP).
This flagship program of LOGODI was initiated in 2000 to help local governments to engage in international exchange and cooperation.
Korean local governments that maintain sister-city or friendly–cooperative relationship with local governments of participating countries recommend who will join the program. So far, the LADP have trained 334 alumni from 52 countries.
Although participants could not visit their partner governments in person due to the pandemic, the LADP held a virtual forum for Korean and foreign local officials to strengthen their partnership and expand their network.
Under the theme of ‘Local Administration Innovation,’ participants had online pre-program study, presented their governments’ innovative governance examples, and developed an action plan by analyzing key issues on a range of model policies and projects to improve the quality of their public service.
Dr. Yoon Jong-jin, President of LOGODI, expressed his hope that the program would empower participants and enhance their capacity, contributing to the development of participating organizations and their countries.
