LOGODI Supports the NAOG to Develop Curriculum Modules for Short-Term Training

From March 21 to 25, 2022, LOGODI carried out the "2022 Capacity Building Program for the National Academy of Governance (NAOG) Faculty (Mongolia)." This program is the first international training program in which LOGODI applied a flipped learning model.

The Mongolian government revised Mongolian Civil Service Law in 2017 and the Mongolian Education Plan Strategy in 2019, endeavoring administrative innovation efforts to reform the education and training system for civil servants. One of the main objectives of the new law and decree is institutionalizing short-term training for all civil servants compulsory. As a leading civil servant training institute, the NAOG must expand short-term programs to meet the increased demands under the new law and decree.

Accordingly, the NAOG organized several workgroups consisting of the NAOG's faculty and trainers education personnel and is developing the new eight short-term courses. However, some workgroups need additional support because they are not familiar with short-term training curriculum module development.

Therefore, the NAOG requested LOGODI provide a one-week program to develop curriculum modules for the ongoing projects. Under the theme of "Development and Operation of Short-Term Curriculum Modules," LOGODI provided various activities, such as Pre-recorded lectures, workshops of curriculum development practice, case study presentations, and discussions, to meet the particular needs of the NAOG.

During the program, LOGODI offered special lectures on various topics, such as Korea's education and training system, the competency of civil servants in the New Normal era, short-term training module development and procedure, and case studies.

Since this program used a flipped learning model, all participants took the pre-recorded lectures posted on Youtube and completed all the assignments and worksheets one week before the program started. In the module development workshops, the Korean experts provided more comprehensive practical advice on the five modules developed by each workgroup. So, they enabled the participants to develop short-term training modules available right away.

In the opening ceremony, Dr. Yoon Jong-jin, President of LOGODI, said, "Since the signing of an MOU with the NAOG in 2002, we have been building mutual trust and friendly relationship through continuous cooperation for the last 20 years." Moreover, he added, "I hope this training will be a good opportunity to strengthen the Mongolian government officials' capacity and contribute to accomplishing the goals of the of Mongolia's national development."
