On February 23, 2022, LOGODI signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) under the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The National Management Institute, the predecessor of NIGSD, and LOGODI signed a MoU on exchange and cooperation in education and training of government officials in 2008. Based on this, the two institutions have worked together to enhance the capacity of the 149 Egyptian government officials through the four invitational and field visit training programs.
However, the cooperation has been stagnant for the last ten years. (LOGODI has 212 Egyptian alumni in total)

Last year, Executive Director of NIGSD, Dr. Sherif participated in the LOGODI Global Forum and laid the foundation for cooperation resumption between the two institutions. This revised MoU expanded a comprehensive partnership for strategic engagements in education and training, such as cooperation on the capacity development of local government officials, site visits to share experiences, planning joint seminars, and academic exchange and collaboration.

Since establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1961, Egypt and South Korea have actively engaged in exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including political affairs, economy, and culture.

Last January, South Korean President Moon Jae-in visited Egypt to discuss sustainable and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. It was the first visit by a South Korean president in 16 years and came in light of the partnership signed between Cairo and Seoul in 2016.

Aside from the outstanding achievements at the governmental level, both institutes understand the importance of enhancing mutual understanding by the people-to-people exchange to make solid friendship sustainable. Therefore, this signing between the two institutions is even more meaningful, extending the further discussion of the roles of government officials, which is the cornerstone for national development and innovation.

At the ceremony, Mr. Yoon Jong-jin, President of LOGODI, said, "Like friendships between individuals, partnerships between institutions are built on shared values. And, there can be no doubt that the NIGSD and LOGODI share important national development values." He also highlighted that LOGODI would leverage the best insights and knowledge in education and training with the NIGSD.
