From the President's Desk

As the 58th President of the Local Government Officials Development Institute (LOGODI), I am pleased to greet you through this 28th e-Newsletter.

As the year is coming to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on LOGODI's accomplishments and progress in the year 2021.

This year, LOGODI has carried out nine international programs online with over 700 foreign government officials from around the world, including Cambodia, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Peru, the Philippines, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Vietnam.

Especially, I would like to highlight the first capacity development program for the local council secretariat officials in Mongolia. Throughout the program, LOGODI shared Korea's experiences in local autonomy, local councils, and the resolution of public conflicts with 460 officials from the 330 sub-provincial governments of the 21 provinces.

Furthermore, LOGODI held the LOGODI Global Forum 2021 and co-hosted the 15th LOGODI-Tsinghua Annual Seminar with Tsinghua University's School of Continuing Education (SCETU) in Beijing, China. About 100 domestic and international government officials participated in each event and shared new strategies and ideas.

Looking back on these achievements, I cannot help but think of LOGODI's valued alumni and supporters who have helped LOGODI in many ways to accomplish its mission.

On behalf of LOGODI, I extend my deepest gratitude for your efforts in supporting LOGODI from home and abroad. I will try my utmost LOGODI to continue communicating and building stronger ties with its alumni and partners.

I wish you and your family a wonderful year filled with joy and success.

Happy New Year!
