LOGODI Applies a Theatrical Performance in an Educational Setting

On May 13, LOGODI showcased a theatrical performance video as a new leadership training course called Empathetic Leadership Training through Drama for the first time. It is one of the training courses of the Post-corona Leadership Academy program, a cohort program with a systematic customized curriculum for the five long-term programs.

At the end of last year, LOGODI outlined a curriculum reform in leadership training. The theatrical performance video is one of the new training methods, applying a theatrical performance in an educational setting. With a professional acting group, LOGODI designed a plot, developed a scenario, filmed a play, and had a preview for feedback before applying it to the new curriculum to meet the specific needs of effective communication.

In Korea, the term MZ Generation became a buzzword. Millennials (born 1981-1996) and Gen Z (born 1997-2012) cohorts may be distinctly separate in age, but there are many similarities between the two groups. LOGODI found this point compelling and created a new training method to induce the behavioral change of government officials. The course aims to improve intergenerational communication in the workplace and build a culture of autonomy and more effective communication in public services.

This course consists of three stages: close observation, collective discussion, and personal participation. The stage play video shown on May 13 was a part of stage 1, close observation, to motivate the leadership change of participants. By completing the three stages of the course, the participants will improve their empathy and intergenerational communication skills.

Through watching the virtual travel in the video, older generations could listen to the hidden thoughts of the MZ generation, understand them in their shoes, and accept the differences. Its goal is to innovate the work environment and create a new culture in public service through effective intergenerational communication.

After the showcase, the play received positive feedback from the target audiences. One of them said, "Watching the play, I think about the path I have lived and my attitude once more." The other said, “It was very well structured and presented the differences between generations. I would recommend it to others, both new and old generations.”
