From October 12 to 21, 2020, LOGODI has carried out the first round of the 3-year (2020-2022) customized
program for government officials of the Republic of Peru, named 'Experience and Challenges for the
Management of Innovation in the Generation of Public Value,' with the sponsorship of KOICA.
Lately, Latin America has increasingly been asking for cooperation with Korea on the e-Government system
and seeing a growing demand. Currently, the Peruvian government implemented the Civil Service Reform to
modernize the public function and strengthen the public officials to serve the citizens systematically.
Therefore, LOGODI conducted the first 3-year program starting in 2016 and completing successfully in
2018.
Since 2017, LOGODI has an MOU with the National Authority for Civil Service (SERVIR) under the
Presidency of the Council of Ministers. It is LOGODI’s first MOU in Latin America for a mutual aim
toward exchange and cooperation in the education and training of public officials. The Peruvian
government requested LOGODI to design the second program of its kind, and this year is the first round
of the second 3-year program.
Upon the request of SERVIR, LOGODI prepared lectures and action plan consulting sessions in a range of
subjects touching on e-Government Innovation, Decentralization, HRM System, Good Governance, and Korea’s
Experience in the Fight with COVID-19. These issues came in connection to its national development
strategy as well as future preparation for the post coronavirus pandemic.
"There is no doubt that the current circumstances bring us a lot of uncertainties and new challenges,"
said Dr. Lee In-jae, President of LOGODI. Delivering his blessings for substantive improvement in Peru,
also, he ensured that LOGODI continues its support of Peruvian officials, staying in close contact with
its alumni in the country and SERVIR.
Rector Juan Oswaldo Alfaro Bernedo, the National University Villareal Rectorate, expressed his
appreciation on behalf of his colleagues for all that the LOGODI team has done for the online training
program. He also said that even though we were not able to meet face-to-face, this program has created
an even bigger feeling of community-building.
