MOIS Initiates an Innovation Project of the Disaster Resource Management System

As a part of the Korean New Deal, the Ministry of Interior and Safety (MOIS) initiated an integrated disaster resource management system to promptly supply urgently needed resources in the destructive event of various natural and man-made disasters.

Taking into account all the available resource groups together, the process comprises planning, preparing, identifying various issues, tracking distribution and logistics information of all available resources, and more.

Accordingly, the project utilizes digital technology (ICT) to manage resources systematically and efficiently by tracking and managing all the distribution and logistics in real-time.

First, MOIS will establish Regional Disaster Resource Management Centers in 17 cities and provinces to integrate and manage disaster management resources by region. Nationally, MOIS will establish an integrated disaster resource management information system to systematically manage the disaster resource.

Utilizing the latest distribution and logistics information of other systems, including the supply chain, warehouse, transportation, and logistics, the integrated information system will be able to promptly provide a stable supply of the urgently needed disaster resources at the right time and in the right place.
